Beaufort Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority

Greetings Sorors and Friends!

Beaufort Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc, was chartered in 1976 by sixteen dynamic young women looking to serve Beaufort and Jasper counties under the auspices of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. Founded on January 13, 1913, by 22 scholarly women on the campus of Howard University, our founders sought to create an organization rooted in sisterhood, scholarship, service, and social action. One hundred and ten years (110) later, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority comprises over 35,000 initiated women and over 1,000 chapters worldwide.

Beaufort Alumnae Chapter has blossomed into a sisterhood of 135 women serving Beaufort and Jasper communities under the sorority's Five Programmatic Thrusts:

  • Economic Development

  • Educational Development

  • International Awareness and Involvement

  • Physical and Mental Health

  • Political Awareness and Involvement

I invite you to explore our website. This biennium our theme is to:

  • Enrich our communities

  • Empower

  • Embrace our sisterhood

Sorors relocating to the Beaufort area, we welcome you and hope you'll join us in service.
